Well Care Check Up
Parents know who they should go to when their child is sick. But pediatrician visits are just as important for healthy children. Well Care Check-ups are designed to track your child’s growth and development, address your questions and concerns, make sure your child is up-to-date on routine vaccinations, and help you anticipate what comes next in your journey with your child.
Our offices follow the recommendations of the Bright Futures/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines for well-childcare. These check-ups are the best way to monitor your child’s health and build a strong connection with your pediatrician. The visits typically include a physical exam, as well as growth monitoring, developmental screening, immunizations, and expert guidance. Well Care Check-ups are also a great time to complete School, Sports & Camp forms as well as learn about recommendations when traveling with your child.
Sick Visits
Does my child need to see a doctor? Should we go to the emergency room? When your child is sick or injured, you need reassurance and expert guidance. Same-day sick visits are recommended for acute or chronic health issues that aren’t getting better with rest or home care. Some of the most common reasons parents schedule a same-day sick visit.
The providers also recommend sick visits for children with symptoms that relate to existing chronic health issues, like asthma, diabetes, and significant behavioral changes. team offers a variety of on-site treatment services to reduce your child’s symptoms and treat the underlying cause.

For infections caused by bacteria, such as urinary tract infections, your child’s pediatrician can prescribe a course of antibiotics. If your child’s symptoms stem from a viral infection, such as a cold or the flu, your provider can recommend over-the-counter medications to relieve pain and other symptoms.
When an existing illness is the cause of symptoms, the team can reevaluate the current treatment and make adjustments as needed, such as changing asthma medications or adjusting diabetes medications. In some cases, your child may need a follow-up visit with their pediatrician in a few days to ensure the recommended treatment is working well and they’re feeling better.
After Hours Services
When your child isn’t feeling well and it’s not normal office hours, our doctors and nurses are still available through Telemedicine Visits, extended hours, Saturday Sick Clinics, and On-Call for various medical concerns.

Behavioral Health FAQs
What is Integrated Behavioral Health?
Integrated Behavioral Health promotes healthy emotional development, and can help manage emotional and behavioral concerns. We believe that emotional health is part of your child’s overall health. Some common concerns that a behavioral health provider may be able to help your family with: parenting, life transitions, anxiety, ADHD, physical health concerns such as management of diabetes, asthma, and sleep issues. Your primary care provider and behavioral health provider will work together for all of your child’s needs. Our BHI Care Managers will be able to provide targeted intervention for common behavioral and developmental challenges such as potty training, tantrums, or bedtime; they can help with management of chronic medical conditions, including adherence to treatment; assist with parental transitions (post-partum depression, returning to work, divorce); and they will serve in a critical manner to help with the interface of school and community mental health programs with the medical home.
What is a consult?
Consults take place after an initial appointment with your medical provider about mental health or behavioral health concerns. Consults are a meeting with a psychologist who can help identify what difficulties a child is having, what services they need, and what caregivers can do to help.
What does your behavioral health team do?
Our behavioral health team meets with patients who are established in our practice, up to date on their well child care, and referred by a medical provider within the practice.
Will Integrated Behavioral Health visits be covered by my insurance?
Because every insurance company is different, we ask that you contact your health insurance company to answer any questions you may have regarding possible co-pays for those behavioral health visits.

Breast Feeding Support
Certified Lactation Consultants – We know welcoming a new baby comes with so much joy, but also so many questions. Especially, when it comes to breastfeeding. We want you to know you are not alone after you leave the hospital. We have a specially trained Lactation Consultant available at our office to support mothers with whatever your breastfeeding goals may be.
Several of our offices have International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) on staff to provide breastfeeding support to our patients. Together with our Pediatricians we are here to help patients to navigate a number of feeding challenges, including: poor milk supply, struggles with finding the right nursing position, breastfeeding pain, common breastfeeding issues such as baby falling asleep at the breast or refusing to breastfeed, help to address emotional and physical barriers to breastfeeding, and provide personalized support for any new parent on their breastfeeding journey.

Prenatal Visits
If you are expecting a new baby, you are welcome to set up a prenatal consultation visit with any of our physicians. The purpose of the prenatal consult visit is for you to get to meet your new doctor, to ask any questions you have about the physician, and to make sure the practice will suit your needs. Having a baby is one of the most rewarding experiences in your life. Our practices offer you an in-person or virtual Prenatal Consult. During this interview you will get a chance to meet one of our pediatricians and ask questions about their approach to caring for your child. This prenatal consult is free of charge.
