ABOUT APPOINTMENTS AND OFFICE VISITS
If your child is a newborn:
Your baby’s first office exam will occur 1 to 2 days after discharge. Call our office to arrange this first appointment.
If your child is older:
The first office visit may be a yearly checkup which we encourage for all children through the teenage years. It is our opportunity to
monitor growth and development, update vaccines, assess for school and social problems, and provide age appropriate guidance for health and safety issues.
To schedule well child care appointments:
We ask that you call the office at 9am Monday through Friday. It is best to schedule your child’s future appointment as you check out after each
visit. Scheduling in advance ensures a convenient day and time and your provider of choice. If you are late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.
If your child is sick:
Please call our office for an appointment as early as possible. Our phone lines open at 8 am Monday through Saturday.
Children with long-standing symptoms or medical problems that are not of an urgent nature may be scheduled for another day. If you are late for your appointment, you may
be asked to reschedule.
Why did I have to pay a co-pay for my child’s well check up?
If your child was seen for a well check but had a separate health concern that required additional treatment, we are required by insurance
companies to list these as separate medical conditions. Your insurance may require a co-payment or payment toward your deductible for treatment of these
conditions.
