Dr. Ryland has been practicing pediatrics for over 20 years. Since acquiring her medical degree from VCU’s Medical College of Virginia, she has been included in America’s Top Pediatricians and is a member of both Phi Beta Kappa (a national honorary society) and Alpha Omega Alpha (a medical honorary society). She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her passion for pediatrics includes newborn and well child care, asthma, ADHD, depression/ anxiety and autism. A mother of three, she enjoys biking, hiking and other outdoor activities.
Dr. Kumar attended Cornell University for her undergraduate studies and completed medical school right here in Richmond at VCU. She returns to Richmond after completing her pediatric residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was active in community and resident education and won a resident teaching award from Harvard Medical School. Her passions include newborn care and lactation support, as well as adolescent and LGBTQIA+ healthcare. Outside of work, Dr. Kumar enjoys baking and making homemade pasta, as well as staying active through yoga and spinning!

Olivia Jessee grew up in Mechanicsville, VA and received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from James Madison University. She received her Master’s of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Old Dominion University. Olivia has ten years of RN experience, seven of which were spent at VCU on the Acute Care Pediatric unit. Her passions include newborn care, lactation support, and mental health advocacy. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys cooking, exercising, and spending time with her husband, two young daughters, and their dog, Leo.

We are located near Short Pump, accept most insurance carriers, and have admitting privileges at nearby Henrico Doctors Hospital for those unforeseen emergencies.

To schedule well child care appointments:
We ask that you call the office to schedule an appointment. It is best to schedule your child’s future appointment as you check out after each visit. Scheduling in advance ensures a convenient day and time and your provider of choice. If you are late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.
If your child is sick:
Please call our office for an appointment as early as possible. Children with long-standing symptoms or medical problems that are not of an urgent nature may be scheduled for another day. If you are late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule.

We have been patients of Dr. Ryland for about 16 years. My daughter who is 18 now was seeing another pediatrician in... the Richmond area. She became sick and I took her to the doctor and they said she was ok. I was taking her to daycare the next day and she became sick again along with a nose bleed, so we ended up at my work and the doctor gave her an antibiotic and referred us to Dr. Ryland. Before we were able to see Dr. Ryland my daughter ended up in the ER. Once we were able to see Dr. Ryland she figured out what was going on with my daughter. She had Reactivate Airway Disease. She was treated and we have been seeing her every since. My other daughter who will be 15 in a month has been seeing her since she was born and absolutely loves Dr. Ryland. She is a great pediatrician and if you are looking for a pediatrician I highly recommend her.read more
